A military source who spoke on condition of anonymity said that two dreaded commanders of the sect who were in charge of Gulak and Shuwa, were among the dead after a fierce battle in Bazza.
Boko Haram not giving up: ‘Insurgents Still Slaughtering People, R*ping Women’
More than a week after Boko Haram annexed Michika and Bazza towns in Adamawa State, residents say the two towns are yet to be recaptured by the Nigerian soldiers as widely speculated.
Residents said the insurgents maintained their siege on the two towns as they continued slaughtering people and raping women trapped in the towns while plundering properties with impunity.
The disclosure was made in Yola by a coalition of non governmental organisation consisting of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Michika chapter, Civil Servants Forum, the Northern Christian Elders Forum and Kamwe Christian Community Forum.
According to the spokesperson of the forum, Rev. Joel Billi, who doubles as the chairman of CAN, Michika branch, the insinuation that the military has recaptured Michika and Bazza towns were blatant lies as the insurgents are still in control of the two towns.
